An Event Report of Babylon.js Meetup Vol.5

We organized fifth meetup of Babylon.js. The post shows the meetup reports.

In this meetup, we've honored to introduce David Catuhe, who is a father of Babylon.js. He kindly saved his time to join the meetup in-person.

1. What Babylon.js Japan is

It is the community that not only organizes meetups regarding Babylon.js, but also provides relationship opportunity for community members. It has been established on April 2022.

602 members register the group as of April 5th, 2026.

In this meetup, around 15 joined in-person, 40-50 joined online.

I introduced forth track of Babylon.js Japan. I was very glad to get good impression from David. (e.g. Numbr of our community members is 600. 8 technical books has been published)

2.3 Organized Session: How Babylon.js Is Used in Generative AI × Metaverse Systems

Presenter:Risa Terauchi, Hitachi R&D

Her company utilize Babylon.js for various prototypes of metaverse x AI. In this presentation, she introduced four example of different domains such as nuclear power plant, rolling stock, and facility management.

2.4 LT 1 : Gaussian Splatting with Babylon.js

The presenter has great skill of Gaussian Splatting. In his presentation, he presented not only his trial of Gaussian Splatting but also imaginary trial of Babylon.js utilization for warehouse management.

2.6 LT 3 : Point Cloud Rendering with ShaderMaterial

The presenter is an author of "Babylon MMD Loader". He kindly had the online presentation from Soul city in Korea.

In this presentation, he introduced an issue of CAD converted data rendering on Babylon.js. His effort of adjustmenting mesh, vertex location, and ShaderMaterial, solved the issue.

2.7 LT 4 : Recap My Passion for Babylon.js

The presenter is a developer who has especially interest in IoT and Web technologies. In this presentation, he showed his past activities combinating with Babylon.js and other technologies.

3. Conclusion

The meetup is aligned with major update of Babylon.js. (v5,0, v6.0, v7.0, v8.0, and v9.0). It' our honor to welcome David Catuhe in our meetup.
The collaboration is just a starting point. We still try to expand our activities.
